    Hello!

I am a Philosophy Student and would like to join this Sangha in Cebu City. Are you receiving people who would like to practice Buddhism?

Based on what I’ve read, Chu Un devotees and its monks are friendly and accomodating which is what I really need because I would like to interact more with other Buddhists.

    Hi Red,

We have regular study group every Saturday from 2-4pm. Usually we end around 5 to 5:30pm due to interesting discussions.

You can come this Saturday although we will be busy with the preparation for the Chinese New Year activities on Sunday (Jan. 25). It will be fun and interesting to go there even if we might not be able to have extensive discussion.

    Hope to see you then.

    Hello Erwin,

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately I have another academic seminar scheduled this January 24 2009 (Saturday) same time. I’m very eager to joining this study group and your Sangha. I’m sure to be there the next Saturday, January 31 2009.

I really appreciate your response. I’ll look for you guys when I’m there.

And yes, we’re also preparing for Lunar New Year, there’s gonna be lots of glutinous rice around!

    Thank you again!

    Hi Red,

Gong Xi Fa Cai! If you may have time on Sunday (Jan. 25, 2009), we have pilgrimage at 5:00PM. Then vegetarian dinner at 7:00PM and activities starting 8:00PM till midnight. These activities will be culminated with New Year’s Eve Prayer at 10PM and New Year Prayer at 11PM followed by drum rolling by Ven. Chueh Lin and 108 Sound of the Gong by one of the BLIA member. After, everyone will have a chance to make a wish and sound the gong three times. This is one of the most anticipated activity of the night. :) People would patiently line up and wait for their turn.

If you have time this will be a very fun and interesting experience to start with instead of waiting for Jan. 31. :)

Although I wont join the dinner due to family get together, I will join the pilgrimage and the activities.

Yes indeed! Although I can’t catch up exactly 5PM for the pilgrimage since I also have intensive meditation around 3PM – 5PM, I’ll make it a point to be there by 5PM+. If Chu Un temple permits, hope to stay there with you guys and welcome the new year with wholesome actvities and Dharma in heart.
